Flying with Pets
Don't feed your pet for six hours before the flight, water is ok
If your pet is the anxious type, ask your vet for a tranquilizing medicine to be administered before you fly (of course, that's for the pet!)
Make sure your pet has an ID Tag Collar, don't use just a choke chain that might slide off
If you and your pet will be changing planes be sure to use duct tape to attach a leash outside the pet container along with a zip lock bag with a couple servings of your pet's food
Let the flight attendants know that you have a pet in the cargo hold, if you have a photo to show them of your pet it will be a reminder in case the plane has a long delay
Don't try to sneak a pet in the cabin of the plane, some countries have prohibited certain pets from being brought in and your pet may have to be put in a quarantine for a long period of time, or even taken to a shelter before departing for your destination
Call ahead before planning on taking a pet along to check out the rules
