Kids Flying Alone

Proof of age may be required for children under twelve
Children under age five usually cannot travel alone
Check with the airline your child will be flying on for rules
Most airlines require children ages 5-11 don't change connections or change flight numbers

You might want to include a snack, complimentary soft drinks or juices will be served

Your child should carry identification and a copy of their itinerary, emergency phone number who to call, change for phone calls and other incidentals

Provide his/her favorite books, toys, or small games to play, if they bring CD players, radios, computers, hand held electronic games on they need to be instructed to turn them off during take off and landing. Cellular phones may not be used after the plane takes off

When obtaining the child's boarding pass, be sure to identify the child as an "unaccompanied minor"

Children should be instructed to "behave themselves" and listen to the flight crew

Remind your child to wait for the flight attendant who will assist them departing the plane
