Joy Spence

Joy Spence, Master Blender, Appleton Jamaica Rum.
Joy holds the prestigious honor of being the first woman to hold the position of Master Blender in this industry. From her love of chemistry at age thirteen, she later became chief chemist for Appleton Rum where she rapidly moved up to Master Blender. Joy states that, “In rum making art and science are so intricately intertwined, that it is difficult to pinpoint where the science stops and the art begins.”
